Beneath Our Feet

During term 3 we have been looking at the Primary Connections Science program of “Beneath Our Feet”.  We have been exploring our understanding of what rocks, soils and landscapes are.  Through some fun experiments, we have looked at what substances make up soil and how they settle in layers when combined with water; what types of rocks are useful for particular jobs; as well as the effects of erosion on various landforms.

“Science was fun because we got to see what would happen if we shook a glass jar with water with clay in it, to see the effects of erosion.  But Mrs D got the wrong type of clay and when we put it in the water, the clay ball fell apart straight away!” – Makayla

“I really enjoyed when we made landscapes because it was hands on and fun to work with my friends.” - Beverley
